Macedonia, OH is a city located in Summit County, Ohio and is part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area. In the early 1800s, a man named Henry Woods discovered a stream he called Indian Run. A few years later, Abraham Cranmer purchased 90 acres of property near Indian Run. This settlement was originally referred to as “The Corners,” but an inside joke among some theology students from Western Reserve College eventually prompted the name Macedonia.
As per the 2013 U.S. census, Macedonia, OH has a population of approximately 11,500. One of the city’s biggest attractions is the Longwood Manor located in Longwood Park in Macedonia, OH. The founding Mayor of Macedonia, Colonel William Frew Long, built Longwood Manor back in 1924. The entire Manor was givien to the city of Macedonia in 1984 to be used as a public park.
